a visit to fireflies park

on saturday, me and sweetie met up and went for lunch at one utama........ we had subway sandwich for lunch..........later we went to a petronas stations which is near giant gombak that stinks so bad that we had to cover our nose whenever we opened the door, to meet a friend of mine, rahman..........the plan was for us to go to the fireflies park which is located in kampung kuantan in Kuala Selangor.............

there was 6 of us who went for this trip, it was me, sweetie, rahman, marzuki (rahman's photo team), mawar and also asma..........we took 2 cars to go the place, so it was rahman's green froggy and also my baby jazzy....... the journey took us bout nearly 2 hours to arrive.......and we got lost during the way.......however, we manage to find the place..........

we arrived there bout 6ish and the thing only opens bout 7ish........so whilst waiting for the place to open, rahman and marzuki who has their own photography company, took the pix around the area and also took the pix of 4 of us...........so we did not waste no time to camera whoring........hahahahaha........... yes we were posers like those in the tele........... we were being "normal" as how the photographers wants us to be.........i mean like, we are normal, how normal more we could be? hahahahaha..........if we were acting, then that is so hypocrite rite? hahahahaha.......no offence rahman..........

then when we waiting for the place to open, there was this one couple who was looking for a couple to go on board with them........becoz, one sampan can only occupied 5 people including the person who is paddling for us.......... one sampan basically costs rm40.......so it is up to you whether u wanna have the sampan all to ur self, or u wanna share..........

so rahman, marzuki, mawar and asma took one sampan, while me, sweetie and the other couple were in one sampan.........then later bout 750ish, the gate was opened and we were told to wear our life jackets which was very stinky.....oh well, nothing is perfect rite.......... so when we have worn our jackets, we onboard the sampan one by one............... and the pakcik started to paddle the sampan to the firefly place.......................

it was very hard working to paddle the sampan as a total of the weight of people in the sampan is more than 200kg........hmmmmm........ wonder what will happen if the sampan was off balance and we fall???? are there any crocies? hahahahaha.......luckily i only thought of this when we are safe home............ then the pakcik had to adjust us a bit here and there coz it was hard for him to control the sampan................ then about 100 meters from the jetty, we started to see the fireflies.........

they were so pretty and even looked like raya lights............. it is said that this is one of the 2 places in the world that u can see fireflies.........well, what a previlige it is to come here..........we aren't allowed to take photos with flash coz it will frighten the flies coz they are so sensitive to bright lights............ and they won't come out or even migrate for up to 2-3 weeks before coming back to the area............so even though we tried to snap some photos, it aint good coz the camera that i brought wasn't sensitive enough........but somehow, sweetie managed to capture one pix with the firefly in it..........kudos to sweetie.........we couldn't see the fireflies that much coz it was full moon.......haih.......but then, the pakcik said, luckily we came early, if it was later, there is less to see......hmmmmm........so kudos to us too......hahahaha

then the pakcik brought us closer to the mangrove trees to see nearer the fireflies...........the thing is, we are not allowed to catch the fireflies.........coz we do not know whether they are females or male........if it is a female, they are not able to come back to the nest if we squashed them and the eggs will be eaten by the ants..............but the pakcik said, that we are allowed to touch them........ so one or two fireflies came to our sampan and we manage to touch it.............it was cool........... in fact, i've realised that only our sampan got to do this whilst the rest only pass by the place........hehehehehe..........lucky us..........

so after like 5 mins of touching the fireflies, we went back to the jetty......... me and sweetie went back to the car and i changed my tshirt as it was very hot that day...........later when rahman and the rest came back, we went to eat seafood at kuala selangor............... we did some catchups and also cracking jokes and enjoyed our food..........except for the services rite guys..........sigh........

later went back home to send sweetie and arrived home bout 1ish and hit the sack at 2ish........what i can say is that, it is a good experience that we got to see this nature's offerings.......... =)
